About

A great race helping support a cause near and dear to all cyclists

The New Haven Grand Prix was established to give our community a chance to see top riders up close in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Not only will you be supporting a good cause, but you’ll have a blast doing it. We have food tents, activity areas and just about something for everyone. That’s why we don’t think of New Haven Grand Prix as just another race but as A Twilight Bicycle Race & Street Festival.

As a fundraiser for the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (a charitable 501(c)(3) organization) the New Haven Grand Prix is an integral part of the growth of greater New Haven’s thriving community. All race proceeds help create a community where youth can learn and thrive through the sport of cycling, both in and out of schools across the state of Connecticut.

The cycling world will turn its attention to New Haven, Connecticut and the New Haven Grand Prix on September 13th. Some of the best professional and amateur cyclists make their way to our beloved city for one of the season’s most anticipated race events. The state of Connecticut and spectators from throughout New England will descend upon New Haven where over 15,000 people come out for a chance to watch some intense cycling competition and, of course, have a whole lot of fun in the process.
The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program's mission is to ensure that Connecticut's youth and their families have access and exposure to an organized state-wide youth cycling league. Additionally, youth and their parents should be able to see a clear avenue that allows them to develop as far as their ambition, skills and abilities can take them. The sport of cycling teaches a child or young adult a wealth of values, social skills and mindsets that help them become successful in every aspect of their life, and the CCAP is proud to provide kids across with the state the opportunity to participate in a safe and positive team-based environment.
